Hantana Trail starts at 4th mile post Hanthana Road: (Shortest & Easiest)

This hike is also ideal for bird watchers and nature lovers. You can take the Uduwela bus from Kandy to reach the 4th mile post. Route :- Kandy / Hantana Road (Hospital Road) / 4th mile post / Get your permit and start hiking. There are few paths but better to take the path along with the pipe. (There’s a pipe bringing something to the transmitting towers on the top).



Trail via Peradeniya University:

This is one of the primary trails that lead to the summit of Hantana Mountain. The trail begins from the vicinity of the University of Peradeniya, which is located near Kandy. The trail takes you through lush forests, passing by tea plantations and diverse vegetation. As you ascend, you'll be treated to panoramic views of Kandy and the surrounding region. The trail can be a bit challenging in certain sections, but the effort is rewarded with stunning vistas.

You can take the trail near Amaya Hills hotel, Heeressagala, Kandy.
